Pilbara Town Based Reserves
The Pilbara Town Based Reserves project is a major initiative of the State Government to improve the lives of Aboriginal people living in the Pilbara. The project aims to ensure that Aboriginal people living in Pilbara town based reserves receive the same services and opportunities and have the same responsibilities as residents of the town. The project is being delivered by the Commission in partnership with the Department of Communities and the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage.
Of the five town based reserves, one has been finalised, two are in Stage 2 of transition and wrap around support services, and two are in Stage 1 of resident consultation and transition planning.
